Pia the Peacekeeper

Meet Pia the Peacekeeper, Bainbridge Island's latest addition! Crafted by renowned Copenhagen-based artist Thomas Dambo, Pia stands tall at 18 feet, sculpted entirely from recycled wood and now residing in Sakai Park. With a lifelong dedication to recycling, sustainability, and boundless imagination, Dambo has earned recognition as the world's premier recycle artist. Pia represents a meaningful contribution to the "Way of the Bird King" project, which seeks to scatter six trolls across the Pacific Northwest, spanning from Ballard and West Seattle to Issaquah, Vashon Island, and Portland.

Pretty pretty please, let’s keep the peace beneath the trees. Hold you in my hand I will remind you with a squeeze. Quiet little people cause your criers make me tired. Pia likes to play with people, people they keep quiet. -Thomas Dambo
